Kuta hotel and lodging guide

Kuta has the most diverse choice of accommodation in Bali and is home to literally hundreds of cheap guest houses, boutique hotels and elegant five star resorts. The hospitality market is fiercely competitive and excellent value can normally be found at every level. Outside the peak tourist months, attractive discounts are common especially at top end hotels.

The budget sector is most buoyant in Kuta where a comfortable room can be had for less than rp60,000 a night. The surfer’s enclave of Poppies Lane and Benesari Street is the best place to start looking and is virtually wall to wall budget guest houses with more than enough choice for everyone. This is also the place for great value mid range options. There are many tasteful small hotel resorts offering stylish air con rooms for no more than rp200,000.

There is no shortage of upscale luxury resorts in Kuta which are unsurprisingly concentrated along the entire length of Kuta and Tuban beaches. Most occupy large beachfront plots and you can expect a couple of restaurants, spa facilities, kid’s clubs and swimming pools, all surrounded by expansive ornamental gardens. If you are keen on staying in budget guest house accommodation, bear in mind that as with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. Most of the real cheapies do not supply the things we generally take for granted such as basic toiletries, towels and even toilet paper. Daily room cleaning is very rare at this level although most places do have 24 hour manned receptions or night security.
