Famed for its all action nightlife, the bar scene in Kuta is by far the most eclectic and lively in Bali and offers something for every occasion. You can enjoy sundowners in a breezy beach bar, party hard in Kuta’s designer dance clubs or rock out in one of the vibrant surfer pubs. It is quite feasible to hop from venue to venue all night long without venturing too far and almost every club offers free entry for foreign tourists.
The nightlife scene is generally divided into three distinct areas in Kuta with chaotic Legian Street home to most of its all night dance clubs and noisiest live music venues.
The backpacker district of Poppies Lane and Benesari Street is perhaps the most fascinating area for a pub crawl. It is virtually wall to wall pubs and tiny surfer friendly bars which can be a great place for either a quiet drink or a rockin’ good time. Many are eccentrically designed and offer loads of character and several stay open 24 hours a day.

A Kuta institution for many years, Paddy’s is the number one party venue in town with ice cold cheap beer, weekly foam parties and plenty of bar girls for company. W Bar

Expresso
It may only be a tiny dive bar but Expresso really packs a punch. The place is packed out every evening for the excellent resident band who belt out rock and grunge classics to a devoted crowd of hard drinking surfers and back packers. Decked out to resemble a pirate ship, the Bounty is a large venue with an irrepressible party vibe. There are live bands, karaoke, pool tables and an upstairs dance club. It is a favoured haunt for large groups intent on partying hard and drinking even harder. It offers good old fashioned hedonism with a smile. Vi Ai Pi
The name says it all. This is Kuta’s mosy glamorous option and generally frequented by a host of beautiful people, affluent hipsters and indeed the occasional VIP who jetted by private jet for a break of Bali bliss.
A great place for people watching and the amazing decor itself is worthy of a visit. It has a laid back vibe with occasional big name DJs making an appearance and regular media events including celebrity fashion shows. Sky Garden
An eclectic nightspot providing three floors of sophisticated lounging and dancing. There is a vibrant sports bar, Irish pub and urban dance club or chill out to cool jazz and Latin tunes in the open air roof top terrace. Eikon
Award winning decor marks Eikon out as one of the most stylish bars in Bali. Tubes
Vibrant surfer hang out with a large open air dancefloor and pool tables. A loud sound system plays indie and dance classics for a youngish crowd of Australian and Europeans. Kubuku
This British-owned cocktail bar is a popular expat hang out and has some of the most charismatic barstaff in Bali. A lively and convivial atmosphere is guaranteed with weekly quizes, pool competitions and occasional acoustic jamming sessions. Red Square
Bali’s first ever dedicated vodka bar is a typically extravagant affair with exuberant modernist decor and entertainment to match. Quite possibly the hippest beach front venue in Kuta and regularly attracts big name artists and DJs.
