Legian hotel and lodging guide

The Outrigger is as plush as it comes in Legian
Heading north out of Kuta, you can’t help but notice a distinct step up in the quality of accommodation on offer. Legian is universally considered to be the most family orientated area and features a huge range of mid-range hotels. Most places are of a smallish size and will feature pleasant gardens, a swimming pool and perhaps spa facilities. Accommodation is usually in air-con bungalows with TV and hot water.
The best value is to be found in Legian Village itself and if you simply must have a room with a sea view, expect to pay premium rates. Prices for a typical mid range boutique resort are generally from rp350,000 – rp600,000.
A few of the larger places and the high-end beachfront properties cater almost exclusively to package tourists and will have a comprehensive range of amenities such as water sports, kids’ clubs and perhaps even a tennis court as well.
Bottom end budget travelers have very limited options in Legian with few places offering rooms under rp200,000 a night. However all employ very high standards for this price and well worth the extra rupiah. See our guide below for the best hotels and guest houses in town.
