The Lovina area boasts a huge variety of places to dine and drink. There is the usual compliment of tourist-friendly beach cafes serving seafood and a broad range of familiar Western favourites. A number of places specialise in Italian, Chinese or Thai cuisine and there has always been a distinct Dutch flavour in Lovina. It is possible to eat very cheaply and you will find possibly the highest number of budget Indonesian cafes outside of the Kuta and Legian area.
You will pay a little more for that idyllic sea view but competition is healthy with happy hours and inexpensive ‘early bird’ menus common. For a distinct step up in quality head to one of the lavish five star hotels which offer refined surroundings and top notch international cuisine.

Nightlife in Lovina is rather sedate compared to Kuta or Legian but there are many places to enjoy a relaxing drink and a handful of live music venues. You will find expat friendly pubs in Lovina with pool tables and live sports, trendy beachfront lounges and a smattering of laid back reggae bars. Many Lovina restaurants also put on traditional Balinese dances for diners.

This ultra cheap Indonesian warung has a huge menu of tasty noodles, stir fries and spicy hot plates at bargain basement prices. Such is their prowess in the kitchen they offer cooking classes and you can also enjoy live Balinese dancing twice a week. It is located a little off the beaten track but well worth tracking down.
Sea Breeze Café
A prime beachfront location ensures a busy atmosphere all day and it is often standing room only at sunset time. As is name suggests, it catches cool breezes and serves up filling sandwiches, hot soups, pizza and pasta. There is live sports on TV and a well stocked bar with a great range of beer and spirits. A perfect spot for that first refreshing cocktail of the evening and watching as the sun goes down.
This small eatery is a delightfully refined spot for romantics and hard to please foodies and serves up great Asian food blended with the best of Continental ingredients. There are many imaginative dishes dreamt up by the European expat owners and some of the desserts are to die for. A great place for lounging too with a huge selection of cocktails and other drinks.

This lively bar hums with life day and night and is the major hang out for the area’s expat diving community. It hosts regular dance parties, live music and has an unpretentious, good humoured atmosphere. The best bet for a rowdy good night out in Lovina.
The nearest thing to a clubby night out in north Bali. This eccentric place is designed to resemble a vast underground cavern and features a spacious dance floor and dimly lit lounge. Music policy is varied if a little erratic with cheesy Indonesian pop, indie rock, hip hop and party tunes. It sees a large crowd of Lovina youngsters most nights and guarantees plenty of unpretentious fun.
A brash sports bar with nightly live music that is jumping most nights with a good mix of tourists and locals. There is a small dance floor for serious party action, pool tables and darts. Expect cheap early evening happy hours, tasty bar snacks and lots of animated chatter.
