Nusa Lembongan - serenity a stone's throw from the hectic south

Nusa Lembongan is virtually car and pollution free and a peaceful alternative to Bali’s hectic beach resorts as the pace of life here is much more tranquil.

Of course, there is still plenty of fun if you know where to look!

There is a distinct choice between the lively traveller’s cafes of Jungutbatu or the refined beachfront restaurants of upmarket Mushroom Bay. There  is much more to Nusa Lembongan than just lying on its tropical beaches all day.

There are a couple of sleepy fishing villages and historic Hindu shrines to explore which are all easily accessible on foot. For most people its alluring appeal comes from the unhurried pace of life and the simple pleasures of sunbathing on sparkling white sand beaches. It offers a back to basics island lifestyle that is hard to find nowadays on mainland Bali.
