Ubud Four Seasons Resort is set amidst lush jungle

Ubud Four Seasons Resort is set amidst lush jungle

The Ubud area offers a wide choice of accommodation with literally hundreds of places to stay and most affording sweeping views of lush rice fields. Even in the built up area of Monkey Forest Road you can be assured of picturesque landscaping and uninterrupted vistas.

Ubud caters to every budget although you won't quite get the bargain basement prices found elsewhere in Kuta or Denpasar. For simple home stay accommodation prices start at around rp75,000 for a double room. Properties are more traditional in design and decor and boast plenty of character. In fact some of the most popular guest houses are run by working artists and are often designed with typical flair and furnished with original works of art.

Lovely mid range resorts abound in Ubud and its outlying villages but the town is best known for its plush spa resorts and luxury boutique villas which compare with the very best in Indonesia.

At this level you can expect more of the same imposing views, luxury spas and fine dining as standard. There is also a handful of secluded retreats aimed at affluent guests looking for self improvement through yoga, meditation and the creative arts. Here is our guide to the best hotel accommodation that Ubud has to offer for all tastes and budgets.
