Nusa Lembongan restaurants and bars guide

Eating out in Nusa Lembongan is generally a laid back affair with a mass of beachfront restaurants offering peaceful romantic dining. There is a fair amount of variety considering its size and most places feature a broad range of Western dishes and local Balinese specialties. Many of the larger restaurants have barbecues on the beach, serving up a wide range of fresh seafood. There are also a handful of places specialising in authentic Italian, Thai and Chinese fare.

The resort of Jungutbatu has the highest concentration of eateries and is where you will find the best value meals. Virtually all Jungutbatu restaurants are moderately priced and away from the beach you will find many small cafes serving very cheap Indonesian dishes. Nearby Mushroom Bay is a more refined experience with several elegant beach restaurants providing a romantic ambience for dining under the stars.

There are few bars outside the main beach resorts in Mushroom Bay but Jungutbatu can boast a fairly wide choice of places to drink at night. There are lively surfer bars, traditional pubs and a couple of trendy lounges. Some also host occasional live music and you can also spend a night watching movies or live sports on TV.

Prices for both drinking and dining are similar to mainland Bali but tend to close earlier at around 22:00. Very few bars stay open after midnight. To make the most out of dining and drinking in Nusa Lembongan, see our comprehensive guide to the island’s best bars and restaurants.
